Pilot Study #14 These Keywords







This text by Black Feminist writer and researcher Lola Olufemi is one of the pilot studies of Re-Imagine Europe: New Perspectives for Action. It emerges from the Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts (BEK) symposium The Only Lasting Truth is Change: Voice, Seed, Brutality (21–23 November 2025, Bergen), and reflects the collaborative project Gneiss by Touki and Rehana Zaman. Developed as part of an ongoing film project commissioned by BEK, the work brings together sound, moving image, and discussion in response to the question: What is change?

Produced within the framework of Re-Imagine Europe: New Perspectives for Action, Lola’s text situates this collaborative work within a broader effort to explore how artistic practices can respond to ecological, social, and political challenges. Moving between documentation and poetic inquiry, it traces how transformation is lived and negotiated through dialogue, solidarity, and collective making.
